An Introduction to Reiki

 

After many years of using a freely available manual for all 3 levels of Usui Reiki, I can confirm that I have now written my own manauls for 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree Usui Reiki. 

 

The ability to learn Reiki is not dependent on intellectual capacity, nor does one have to be able to Meditate! It does not take years of practice as some websites will tell you. It is quite simply the easiest and simplest form of healing that is available to us at this time. Reiki is also the foundation of all other forms of healing and all branches of attunements that come from this one pure source of vibrational medicine. 

 

Reiki is passed on from the teacher to the student via in-person or distant training. Yes, that's right, whatever you might have read online or have been taught via an in-person workshop, the Reiki attunements can be sent distantly. If you think about it, Miako Usui received them this way when he was blessed with the original attunement that came to him directly from the source {spirit}. There are no if's or but's to this fact, although some will try to create an argument about it, the fundamental facts are that the origins of Reiki were given distantly and this practice carries on today through the Academy and with many other online teaching websites. When you are attuned, you will become a Reiki healer {I prefer the title Reiki Practitioner} because we are not healers, we are just channels for the Reiki energies to flow through us. Reiki is a pure form of healing, not dependent on individual talent or acquired ability. Because of this, the personality of the practitioner is less likely to cloud the significance of the healing experience. The feeling of being connected directly to Gods healing love and protection is something that must be felt to be believed. People from all walks of life are drawn to the healing abilities of Reiki for many different reasons. Some will come to know Reiki after a personal recommendation from a friend who is already attuned. Others will come to find Reiki due to suffering from an illness or disease where they want to take control of their own lives through alternative medicine. The most common factor seems to be that people are searching for something more within their lives. They are searching for hope and guidance. 

 

The secret to getting the most from Reiki is to be open to Reiki. Instead of being negative and sceptical let the joy of Reiki envelop you. Leave your fears and doubts behind and jump headfirst into a life-changing experience. Reiki draws you to itself. If you are attending a seminar/workshop on first degree Reiki, you are there for a reason — you need it. Trust in the omniscient wisdom of Reiki. Remember you will only need the 1st-degree attunement to begin your Reiki journey. You might feel called to progress to level 2 after the initial clearing has taken place {28-30 days after the first attunement}. Some of you will also feel guided to proceed to the Reiki Master level which is the final attunement within the Usui method of natural healing. It is up to you how far you go. I want to mention that someone who is attuned to Reiki Master does not channel a better form of Reiki energy than someone who is only attuned to Reiki 1st degree. Those who do believe this or teach this are stuck working with the ego-self and are not fully embracing the blessings of Reiki. 

 

What is an Attunement?

Reiki is not taught in the way other methods of healing. The process of being attuned requires the transference of energy to the student from the Reiki Master during a process called an "Attunement". This process expands the Crown Chakra, Heart Chakra and Palm Chakras to create an energetic link between the student, teacher and the Reiki energies {some like to visualise this as a tuning fork where the prongs connect with the aspects of the higher self. The Reiki Attunement is a powerful spiritual experience. The energies are channeled to the student by the Reiki Master and is always guided by the God-consciousness which makes adjustments in the process depending on the needs of the individual. The Attunement is also believed to be attended by Reiki guides and other spiritual beings {Angels, Masters, Light Beings} who help to implement the attunement so you can see everything that occurs during the attunement is directed by God and is part of Gods plan for humanity. Many people report having spiritual experiences that involve healing, visions and other sensations that flow in and around the physical body. This is why Reiki is a perfect addition for students of all religions and spiritual backgrounds as well as those who do not hold any religious/spiritual beliefs. For those who hold New Age beliefs, the attunement process can dramatically increase psychic sensitivity. Students often report experiencing an opening of the 3rd Eye Chakra, increased intuition and the expansion of other psychic gifts. From my own personal experiences, the Reiki attunement that I received over 20 years ago dramatically helped me to awaken my psychic gifts which have always been part of my life and come from family ancestry including those of my Romani Gypsy ancestors.

When you have received a Reiki Attunement, you will be able to use Reiki for the remainder of your life. It does not wear off and you can never lose it. You can stop using it but it will always be part of who you are. You only need one attunement for each level but re-attunements and boosters can be taken and occasionally help to re-awaken and expand the psychic senses that the original attunement awakened. Experimentation has found that additional attunements of the same level add to the value of that level. These benefits include refinement of the Reiki energy one is channelling, increased strength of the energy, healing of personal problems, clarity of mind, increases sensitivity towards energy and a raised level of consciousness. Some students will also receive insights into past lives which include lifetimes on other plants and solar systems.
