Christ Consciousness is a term that you will often hear within the spiritual community but do you know what Christ Consciousness means? The term Christ Consciousness holds deep significance for those on the path of ascension and inner healing. It refers to a state of consciousness that transcends the limitations of the ego, and duality and connects the individual to the pure light of God. In this state, we awaken to the truth of our interconnectedness with all beings and experience a profound sense of love, unity, compassion and joy. While the term is most commonly used to refer to Jesus Christ, the concept of Christ Consciousness is not limited to any specific religion or belief system. It is a universal principle that can be experienced by individuals from all walks of life.

 

The origin of the word “Christ” is Greek Χριστός Christos, “the Anointed One,” and Krestos, and its esoteric meaning is “fire” or “light”. Christ Consciousness is the state of unity consciousness or enlightened awareness that exists beyond the manifested world in the non-dual light realms. This level of consciousness embodies the qualities of love, compassion, forgiveness, and unconditional acceptance, which are exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus. The awakening of the Christ Consciousness is not to be confused with the return of Christ or any other spiritual leader. Awakening the Christ Consciousness is the opposite. 2,000 years ago, Jesus left his students and said “I must leave you now or the comforter will not come to you” {John 16:7}. He was explaining here and in many other teachings that Christ is not a person to be worshipped but rather it is who you are. The “second coming of Christ” is not an external event but an internal remembrance.
