Reiki is an energetic form of healing in which the initiate embraces the body’s ability to heal and rejuvenate itself by reducing stress and fostering relaxation.
Light equals life so when you live in light and love, you allow your body to bring more of the same energy into the body, bequeathing a more fulfilled and abundant life. Experiencing Reiki as a healer or as a client of a Reiki Healer brings alignment and balance to mind, body and spirit by bringing the light in and releasing all blockages that are holding you back from living your life which is filled with happiness, joy, and health.
Reiki comes from Japan and in the Japanese language Rei means “universal” and Ki means “life force energy.” so Reiki translated means “Universal Life Force Energy”. Hands-on healing has been practiced throughout the history of humankind and is still used in various institutions around the world. Since ancient times many cultures around the world had the knowledge that an unseen energy flows through all living things and directly affects the quality of one’s life. There is miraculous medicine to all disease and it is called Reiki. Reiki helps with the circulation of vital life force energy that flows through the body. When this life force energy is low or depleted you are vulnerable to disease and illness. When the energies is at its optimum level and flows freely through the body you are less likely to get sick.
During a Reiki Healing Session, the practitioner of Reiki taps into the flow of universal energy and becomes a conduit for the energy to flow through them and into the client. This process assists in the body’s own natural ability to balance and restore itself at the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. Everyday stress, trauma, and illness can be transmuted and energy blockages can be removed allowing for the Life Force Energy of Reiki to flow better, which assists healing on all levels.

Not All Energy Healers Use Reiki
Many healers use Life Force Energy but Reiki is a unique form of healing energy that can only be channeled by someone who has been attuned from a Reiki Master. This is achieved either through one on one teaching or via distant teaching and distant attunements. Anyone who hasn’t been formally attuned is not using Reiki, but another breed of healing. Most people must receive an attunement in order to channel Reiki, although some people are born with a natural ability to tap into this energy. This is not common. An attunement increases the strength of one’s healing energies. As an empath and hyper sensitive, I was born with the ability to heal without receiving an attunement but I progressed through the traditional channels of teaching and receiving attunements to strengthen my existing healing abilities. To this day, I still use what I call “Spiritual Healing” more than “Reiki Healing” although they are in reality both the same. The main difference that I have found when I am giving healing to a client is that with Reiki, I am the conduit but with spiritual healing, the energies come from me and are mixed with the universal energies of Reiki. I can usually tell the difference because my whole body will be on fire when I use spiritual healing and I will be drained afterwards but if I use Reiki during a healing session, this burning up or draining feeling will not be felt. Spiritual healing also allows me to tune into my clients bodies in order to move any negative or stagnant energy away from them as well as channeling healing energy into them.
Cleansing The Mind, Body and Emotions
The experience of receiving Reiki can affect the body as well as the mind, and emotions. Part of the process of releasing is letting go of toxins from areas where they may have been trapped within the body. You can experience physical aches and pains, as well as the release of emotional toxins in your consciousness. This experience is actually good in that healing is taking place. This does not always happen for everyone after a Reiki session/attunement, but when and if it does, it is important to know what is happening so you can feel supported and know that what is coming up is coming to the surface to be transmuted. For the most part many people experience a very relaxed and calm state.
Reiki Is Not Harmful
Reiki is guided by spiritual consciousness. No harm can ever come because it always knows what a person needs. Reiki is gentle, but effective. The Reiki practitioner does not have any special powers or abilities. They are just a conduit of Life Force Energy. Because the practitioner is not physically directing the healing unlike spiritual healing, it is much easier for the ego to stay out of the way and allow the loving presence of spiritual consciousness to shine through. This is not to say that a spiritual healer will allow their ego to take over but I have known many healers who will say that they are the ones that healed someone of an illness or they are the ones who have a special gift and do not give credit to the universal energy that they use whether they be Reiki Healers of Spiritual Healers.
Reiki Can Be Learned by Anyone
You do not need to have any special abilities to learn Reiki, nor do you need to know how to meditate or be highly sensitive. It is simply passed on from the Reiki master to the student through an attunement and training process. It is not based on individual talent. Many people claim to feel a direct connection to God’s healing love and protection. It is also important to note that to learn reiki you can do this either in person with a Reiki master or you can learn to become a Healer via distant training. As long as your master gives you the correct teaching and the attunement is passed to you in the correct manner, you will be a Reiki Healer.
Reiki Can Be Used for Self-Treatment
Reiki is just as beneficial to use on yourself as it is to use it on others. Using specific hand positions that are taught during your training enable you to balance, align and treat your physical body as well as spiritual body via the chakra system.
Reiki is Not A Religion
Reiki does not have any conflict with religious beliefs. People of various religions practice Reiki and find that it brings them closer to their own personal religion or deity. It is however a spiritual path that one follows.
Can Reiki Energy Be Detected?
Yes! Reiki energy has been detected by using Kirlian photography. This is the technique of photographing etheric energy patterns around living things. Reiki energy was detected as far back as 1990. Reiki energy was visually captured emanating from the palm chakra and can be seen between one’s fingers sing this technique. It can also be seen by individuals who have the gift of seeing Auras.
Experiencing The Benefits
Through the sense of touch and the benefits of Reiki you can start to learn to use your intuition (Gut Feelings) to experience someone else’s energy field or your own. This helps you to decipher what is going on in their body or yours by tuning into the subtle vibrations. I have learned to read in this manner with often great accuracy. Through Reiki I have enhanced my ability to sense energy. My clients have benefited tremendously from receiving a Reiki treatment too. One thing about Reiki is that there is no limit to the possibilities offered. Reiki energy is meant to be developed. It comes from an infinite source and it has so much potential, so there is always room for improvement.
