Mindful Moments {Mindfulness}

Updated: 2 days ago

Most of us are of sound mind, but many of us find it difficult to maintain a note of harmony and peace. Most of us know how to think, but few of us are able to control out thoughts. We all have the capacity to be creative, to imagine new ideas but few of us are able to do it together so we can co create in harmony with each other. We could all do with some mental training so that we can use the most powerful energy in the universe, the mind, which is always at our instant disposal.

We can begin to train our minds with mindfulness. It is a simple way to gently help our mind go where it is best to do, do what is the best thing to do. It begins by simply being fully aware of what you are doing. Mostly we are not fully aware due to our minds wandering into the past and then into the possibly future. We spend most of our time watching others and so we rarely focus on what we are actually doing ourselves.

Next time when you sit down to a meal, watch yourself! Be aware of only what you are doing at that moment in time and be aware of what you are eating. Every time your mind starts to wander, bring it back to the action and sensation of eating and sitting at the table. Feel the seat beneath you and smell the food that you are eating. Allow your mind to absorb all of the scents that you are experiencing. When you do this, do the same when cleaning, when you are writing, when you are working. The more do you do it, the stronger, more focused and more rational you will be with your concentration. The more natural will be your actions, the more peaceful you will feel and the more relaxed you will be. No matter what you are doing, allow your mind to be present in this very moment.

Now I can hear some of you saying that you won't be able to do this but take a step back from that thought..... you are practicing mindfulness now by reading this message. Your mind is focused on one thing which are the words that you are reading. Nothing else is entering your mind as you read this. You are simply being present in this very moment in time.

You can also apply spiritual energy to Mindfulness through distant attunements. Below you will find the names of 2 attunements that specifically focus on this aspect of your spiritual health. Simply click on the names of each item to read a full description.

Mindfulness Reiki Do

Mindfulness is a term used to describe a method of Thinking, and therefore noticing thought itself, as is derived from Buddhism. Although Mindfulness is derived from the Buddhist Faith, there is no need to adhere to any Faith or Religion to use Mindfulness. Buddhism contains a major strand of Personal Improvement and Self Development, plus this Wealth of Knowledge can be tapped into in a secular way, or used by Practitioners of other Faiths without having to believe in Buddhism itself. In no way do you have to Convert or Undermine any Faith or Religion you have of your own. In the same way, you can use Mindfulness with Clients of any Faith and Background. Indeed throughout the manual, you will learn about other Faiths and Non-Faiths Models in order to provide a more flexible approach when working with Mindfulness Reiki Do.
