Have you ever felt trapped by your own mind? I have. My story begins in December 1997, during what should have been a magical holiday in Paris. Instead, it became the first chapter of an unexpected spiritual awakening that would transform my life forever.

Picture this: I was standing at a trin station in Paris when my first panic attack struck. If you've never experienced one, imagine feeling like your world is ending – heart racing, chest tightening, reality spinning around you. In an instant, my carefree life transformed into a struggle just to make it through each day. The journey home from Paris became a blur of continuous panic, each moment stretching into an eternity until I finally reached my doorstep in Cardiff.​ For nearly two decades afterwards, my home became both my sanctuary and my prison. I missed the milestones that most people take for granted – my 18th and 21st birthdays, family gatherings, and most heartbreakingly, my father's funeral. But sometimes, our greatest challenges lead us to our most profound discoveries.

Hope arrived in the form of a local hypnotherapist who offered home visits. During one of our sessions, he introduced me to something that would change everything: Reiki. This gentle healing practice became my lifeline, my first taste of peace in years. With each session, I felt a warm blanket of tranquillity wrap around me, offering glimpses of the person I could become.​ As I delved deeper into the world of energy healing, something remarkable happened. Not only did my panic attacks begin to soften their grip, but dormant gifts within me started to awaken. My natural empathic abilities, present since childhood, blossomed into something more profound. I met my spirit guide, Rakesh, who became my constant companion on this journey of transformation.​ Today, I stand as living proof that our deepest wounds can become our greatest teachers. While I occasionally still feel anxiety's whisper, it no longer controls my life. Instead, those experiences have helped me become a more compassionate healer and teacher, founding LivingReiki Academy to help others find their path to healing.
